Somatic Dance
Dance like no one’s watching, release what no longer serves, and come home to your authentic self.
Somatic Dance Women’s Circles honour the wisdom of the body and the power of feminine connection. I believe that movement is medicine – an ancient language that speaks directly to the soul, bypassing the noise of the mind. Through somatic dance, we return to ourselves. We listen. We soften. We awaken.
My intention is to create a space where women feel safe to explore, express, and embody their truth. A space free from judgement, comparison, or performance. Here, we honour the rhythms of our bodies, and the sacredness of being seen, held and celebrated in community.
This is not about dancing ‘right’ – it’s about dancing real. Whether you arrive with joy, grief, curiosity, or fatigue, you are welcome exactly as you are. Together, we move towards deeper presence, connection, and healing.
What is Somatic Dance?
A practice combining movement and mindfulness, allowing you to experience the connection between mind and body.
There is no choreography. No performance. No set moves. No right or wrong.
Just intuitive movement, honouring the body’s rhythms and expressing from within.
Somatic dance helps us reconnect with the body in order to regulate the nervous system, process stored emotion, and restore inner balance – through movement, breath and embodied awareness.
Backed by Neuroscience
Somatic healing is a body-centred, evidence-based approach rooted in neuroscience, trauma research and somatic psychology.
Studies show that trauma and chronic stress are often stored in the body, not just the mind.
Somatic healing is grounded in research from experts such as Dr. Bessel van der Kolk, author of ‘The Body Keeps the Score’. His work highlights how trauma is not only a psychological experience but also a physical one – stored in the body and expressed through tension, disconnection, and chronic dysregulation of the nervous system.
Dr. van der Kolk emphasises that body-based approaches like movement, breathwork, and somatic awareness are essential tools for releasing trauma and restoring a sense of safety and wholeness.
Somatic dance works directly with these principles, offering a powerful, evidence-based path to healing and embodied transformation.
Practices like somatic dance help to:
Regulate the nervous system
Reduce anxiety
Restore emotional balance
Release trauma-related tension stored in the body
Release mood-boosting neurotransmitters (endorphins, dopamine and serotonin)
If you’re craving deeper connection – to your body, your emotions, and a circle of supportive women – this is your invitation to join a somatic dance women’s circle.
No dance experience is needed. Just a willingness to show up as you are.
